There are quite a few options depending on mode of travel and point of departure.
Toulouse airport is served by many airports across Europe. Just click on the airline names to access their website. Direct flights operate from: Belfast (Jet2), Birmingham (Flybe), Bristol (Easyjet), Edinburgh (Jet2), Leeds Bradford (Jet2), London Heathrow (BA), London Gatwick (Easyjet) and Manchester (Bmibaby). Currently, Jet2 only fly to Toulouse in warmer months.
There are many other indirect flights from other UK airports such as Air France via its Paris hub.
Direct departures from other non-UK places include: Amsterdam (KLM), Bremen (OLT), Brussels (Brussels Airlines), Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Geneva (Baboo and Easyjet), Hamburg (German Wings), Lisbon (TAP), and Munich (Lufthansa).
Since schedules change frequently, it's best to check all the options for the period you are interested in.
The house can be reached within 90 mins by car from Toulouse Airport. There is also a train service from Toulouse, changing at Montrejeau. The local service stops at Marignac, just 15 mins walk from the house
City jet, a subsidiary of AirFrance/KLM, flies from London City airport direct to Pau (Cityjet),
The car journey is mainly motorway and takes just under 90 mins.
Carcassonne airport has direct flights from Ryanair to Brussels Charleroi, Cork, Dublin, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Stansted and Glasgow Prestwick. Car journey time = approx 2½ hours.
There are other airports a little further away, such as Biarritz, Bordeaux and Perpignan.
From the UK channel ports, there are plenty of choices. The car journey from Calais takes approximately 11 hours. Some guests will prefer to organise an overnight stopover en route, others will do it in one leg, perhaps sharing the driving - it's motorway nearly all the way. For an online itinerary, click here. On booking, we'll send you directions (the house isn't difficult to find).
Each of the above airports has car rental companies on site. We would suggest 'shopping around'.
A car/motorbike service operates to Toulouse in the Summer months. Sadly, the service is now from Paris, not Calais. At all times of the year though, the train can be a viable alternative for passengers. From the UK, take the Eurostar service to Paris, then the Metro to Austerlitz station and the TGV to Toulouse (or an overnight sleeper service). Once at Toulouse, hire a car or complete the entire journey by changing to a local train service. It's possible to go from London St Pancras to just a 15 minute walk from the house - entirely by train. Link Here
